Childhood's End

I grew up very quickly, before my time, and I've been slowly getting younger since. I think I caught my mistake in time in time, and I do experience bouts of acute adulthood.

The vague cliché that childhood is the best time of one's life is true, but it's a statement about attitude not age. It is not necessary that childhood ceases with years. Mine's been going off and on for years.

Recently, I've been reverting, moving backwards. Losing responsibility, losing focus on the future, losing my tolerance for sober seriousness, for geriatric thinking.

I find I giggle more than I used to, and can spend ten minutes marveling at the flower of a weed.
